Our School Vision
Badger Creek Primary School is a sanctuary for continuous growth. We will develop skilled learners who will become educated, responsible and respectful citizens.
A comprehensive program in accordance to the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). The school uses an integrated curriculum and classes are grouped according to the CSF levels. Literacy and numeracy are priorities supported by reading recovery, extra resources and a teaching and learning coach. Learning Technologies and Student Welfare also important components of our educational setting with specialist programs in Art, Library, Japanese and Music. Programs which support our teaching and learning include;
- A fully integrated Learning Technologies program with each class room having 6 or more computers fully networked with intranet and internet access. Each learning area has access to a digital camera, electronic whiteboard, scanner and color printer. Five electronic whiteboards have been added to classrooms over the last 2 years.
- Integration programs supported by teacher aides.
- Early years literacy and numeracy program.
- Extra literacy support through Reading Recovery and classroom based small group support in Grades 1/2.
- Wellbeing Program supported by a Student Welfare Officer and school chaplain.
- Camps for the grades 3/4 and 5/6.
- Excursions and incursions.
- Perceptual Motor Program for preps.
- Grade 6 Graduation.
- Transition Programs for incoming Preps and for Year 6 to Year 7.
- Swimming for all grades and optional sporting pursuits such as kayaking and snow skiing.
- The opportunity for students to pursue excellence involvement in extension education or sporting events beyond the local level.
- Traffic safety.
- Landcare with a focus on sustainability.
- Optional musical activities: band, choir and instrumental. (drums, guitar, flute, violin and piano)
- Buddy and Peer Support Program involving preps, grades 1, 2, 5 and 6.
- Peacebuilding Program focussing on positive social strategies, anti bullying and promoting the 4 school values.
